Kandui Resort is located on the island of Karamajet, part of the Mentawai Islands chain. It is situated roughly 75 miles off the west coast of Sumatra. Due to its remote location it requires a one-of-a-kind boat crossing across the Mentawai Strait – a patch of ocean steeped in historical folklore and intrigue. Kandui Resort, the only western development on the island, is set amidst 30 acres of palm trees, lagoons, and a spectacular mile long white sand beach overlooking two of the most picturesque islands in the Mentawais and surrounded by some of the best waves on Earth.

The whole idea and concept behind this venture is to offer an extraordinary alternative for people who want to visit this area but are not comfortable with traveling and living on a boat, small groups who are looking for an executive/work related retreat, people traveling with their significant other or families, the list goes on and on. Most of our guests just want to surf the best waves of their lives and we really can't blame them!

Our ultimate goal is to be able to provide our guests the best surfing/cultural experience of their lives; an experience that will keep everyone occupied whether they are out surfing, hanging out in the resort, or on a cultural trek deep into the jungle; we’ll have it all!

Most importantly, we are dedicated to supporting the local Mentawai economy, culture, and traditions by employing Mentawai residents and guides directly at the resort and on our cultural tours. Our staff are experienced locals committed to protecting the well being and natural environment of the Mentawai Islands while providing our guests an unforgettable experience on the land and in the water.

Anthony Marcotti maintains Kandui Resort's United States overall operation from San Clemente, California. Anthony is in charge of marketing, web development, and basic day to day operations, customer relations etc...

Jordan, Aii, and Kanna Heuer maintain Kandui Resort's logistics and operations in Indonesia. They take care of all human relations for the resort as well as general finance issues from Padang.

Johnny and Ainsley Ocean maintain Kandui Resort''s day to day operations in Indonesia. Ainsley oversees guest services at the resort while Johnny is responsible for basic construction projects around the resort. Johnny designed and oversaw the building of every structure at the resort!

Ray Wilcoxen co-maintains Kandui Resort''s infrastructure and maintenance programs as well as all resort activities. Ray is also our lead surf guide and manages the boats and staff that work/operate the boats at the resort.

Amen May co-maintains Kandui Resort''s infrastructure and maintenance programs and is in charge of landscaping programs around the resort. When the waves are pumping Amen is also our resident charger.

Cecilia Yngvesson is responsible for Kandui Resort's restaurant and housekeeping services.

Anom Suheri (Un) maintains Kandui Resort's overall community relations in Indonesia.

Shaun Levings maintains Kandui Resort's marketing in Australia through his company, World Surfaris.
